Location worked out perfectly for my hike at the State Park, with a gas station next door and McDonald's across the street. The room was surprisingly decent, but I wouldn't exactly call it a palace.
And oh, that smell? Like a wet sock party gone rogue! Honestly, I expected a friendly pillow, not a bed that smelled like a gym locker.

The pool area presents a decent environment for relaxation after a long day. Plus, the location offers easy access to fast food spots, especially McDonald's right across the street, which makes grabbing a quick bite a breeze.
Upon entry, the room had a peculiar musty smell that hinted at its age. The outdated decor and worn furnishings irritated the senses. there's no fighting that feeling of being in a time capsule. Bathroom space? Laughable—trying to maneuver around a sink tucked in a corner is quite the workout. Making matters worse, I stumbled upon dirty surfaces in various corners, which really pushed the comfort limits. Breakfast? Rather sparse. those dry muffins and watery juice don't hold a candle to a proper breakfast spread. You might as well treat yourself to something warm from the fast food joint nearby.

Solo travelers looking for a good night
The check-in was super fast, loved it. And the breakfast? They had it ready before the time. That’s some serious dedication, man.
Pricey for what you get but still okay.

i recently stayed in a double room with two double beds and was pleasantly surprised. the staff was really helpful and made my stay comfortable, especially since it was a busy weekend for hiking. breakfast was available earlier than expected, which was a great perk before hitting the trails.

Had a great time with friends! The location was perfect for visiting Starved Rock State Park and relaxing at the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was super friendly. I recommend checking out the pool if you get a chance!
However, breakfast was pretty minimal with just a few dry items, so plan accordingly if you want something more filling.

location good but needs improvements
The room setup was spacious and overall clean, providing a comfortable place to rest. I appreciated the convenience of having a gas station next door that made my travel easier.
Unfortunately, I wish there was more to praise beyond the location.

Comfortable Stay with Room for Improvement
I had a decent night's sleep, but the room needed a serious refresh. The bed was comfy, and although the breakfast choices were minimal, it sufficed. I recommend checking the shower functionality ahead of time and opting for restaurants nearby for better dining options.

The king room was tiny and felt outdated. It was dirty, and I had to call for blankets since there were only sheets on the bed. The vanity was super small, leaving no room to get ready. The TV was also pretty small. Plus, I was disturbed by other guests all night and couldn’t reach the front desk for help. Paid over $120, which felt totally ridiculous.
